Operations conducted in Kurram, North and South Waziristan result in militant casualties; Two Pakistani soldiers also lose their lives in the conflict.
In a series of operations conducted by Pakistan’s security forces across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15 militants, referred to as Khawarij, were killed, while two soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations took place on the night of April 25 and 26 in the regions of Kurram, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan.
In Kurram, forces launched an operation based on intelligence reports about the presence of militants. During a fierce exchange of fire, eight militants were killed.
In North Waziristan, four militants were killed in a separate operation. However, two Pakistani soldiers, Lance Naik Usman Mohammad and Sepoy Imran Khan, both aged 26, were martyred during the operation. Lance Naik Usman hailed from the Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Sepoy Imran Khan was from the Kurram district.
In South Waziristan, three militants were killed during an operation in the Gomal Zam area.
The ISPR further stated that significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the militants’ possession. A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists.
The statement also noted that the killed militants were involved in terrorist activities.
Pakistan’s military leadership reaffirmed its commitment to the complete eradication of terrorism, with the sacrifices of its soldiers strengthening the nation’s resolve.
In response to the successful operations, the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, and Minister for Interior praised the security forces for their bravery and dedication. They also paid tribute to the martyred soldiers and extended condolences to their families.
