WANA(The COW News Digital) All militants involved in the terrorist attack on Wana Cadet College have been killed in a successful operation by Pakistani security forces, officials confirmed late Monday night. The assault, carried out by Afghan-based militants, was neutralized without any casualties among students or faculty members.

According to security sources, four militants — along with one suicide attacker — were killed during the clearance operation conducted by the security forces. The operation was executed with “extreme caution and tactical precision” due to the presence of more than 650 people inside the facility, including 525 cadets.

Security teams are currently conducting a thorough search of the college premises to clear any planted explosives or improvised explosive devices (IEDs). “The building is being cleared of possible landmines and booby traps to ensure complete safety before normal activities resume,” said a security official involved in the operation.

Earlier reports indicated that the terrorists had stormed the college after detonating an explosives-laden vehicle at the main gate, causing significant damage to the entrance and nearby structures. The blast brought down the gate and shattered windows in adjacent buildings, creating panic among residents in the area.

The prompt response by the security forces prevented a large-scale tragedy. All cadets and teaching staff were swiftly rescued and evacuated to safety during the early hours of the assault. “Our top priority was the safety of the students,” a senior official said. “The operation was carefully planned to avoid any harm to the cadets.”

Intelligence sources revealed that the attackers had direct links to terrorist networks operating from across the Afghan border. The militants reportedly received real-time instructions from handlers in Afghanistan via mobile communication during the attack.

Officials stated that the terrorists had taken shelter in a building located far from the cadets’ residential blocks, minimizing the immediate risk to students. However, the confrontation lasted several hours as the security forces surrounded the compound and eliminated all the assailants.

The successful operation has been hailed as a major counterterrorism achievement by security circles. Authorities reaffirmed that Pakistan’s resolve to root out cross-border terrorism remains unwavering and that those involved in orchestrating such attacks will be pursued relentlessly.
