Under the chairmanship of Army Chief General Asim Munir, the Corps Commanders Conference expressed deep concern over India’s aggressive stance and the ongoing atrocities in Indian-occupied Kashmir. The forum reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to maintaining its sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating that any attempt to impose war would be met with a decisive response.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the special conference reviewed the current regional security situation, with a particular focus on escalating tensions between Pakistan and India. The forum reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression or adventurism.
General Asim Munir lauded the professionalism, steadfast courage, and operational preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces, emphasizing that the military stands united with the nation to safeguard the homeland.
The forum also stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and maintaining active preparedness on all fronts. It expressed grave concern over the ongoing human rights violations by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly following the recent Pehalgam incident, where Indian forces have been targeting innocent civilians along the Line of Control (LoC). The forum condemned these inhuman and unprovoked actions, which continue to escalate regional tensions and assured that an effective and appropriate response would be given.
Participants also raised concerns over India’s consistent creation of fabricated crises for political and military gains. They noted that India often portrays its internal administrative failures as external issues, diverting attention from domestic problems, as seen in the 2019 Pulwama incident used to unilaterally alter the status of Jammu and Kashmir through the revocation of Article 370.
The conference emphasized that the recent Pehalgam incident was intended to divert Pakistan’s focus from its ongoing efforts toward Western border security and economic recovery, areas in which Pakistan is making significant and sustainable progress.
The forum warned that India’s nefarious tactics to activate terrorist proxies would fail and expressed grave concern over India’s attempts to undermine the Indus Waters Treaty, which poses a serious threat to Pakistan’s legal and fundamental water rights.
Participants condemned India’s use of water as a weapon, stressing that it would not only affect Pakistan’s 240 million people but also destabilize the entire South Asian region. The forum also expressed deep concern over the undeniable evidence of direct involvement of Indian military and intelligence agencies in organizing terrorist activities within Pakistan, calling these actions a clear violation of international law.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s firm commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity, the forum made it clear that any attempt to impose war would be met with a certain and decisive response. It emphasized that the people of Pakistan’s aspirations for peace would be respected at all costs.
The conference concluded with General Asim Munir expressing full confidence in the operational preparedness and morale of all formations and strategic forces of the military in safeguarding the country.
