Azerbaijan has expressed concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and India in the wake of the Pahalgam attack, and has called for an impartial international investigation into the incident.
In an official statement issued by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baku urged both South Asian nations to exercise restraint and resolve their issues through dialogue. “We are deeply concerned by the escalation between Pakistan and India. All parties must remain calm and engage constructively,” the statement read.
Reaffirming its support for Pakistan, Azerbaijan stressed the need for a transparent and unbiased inquiry into the Pahalgam attack. The statement also emphasized that any resolution to long-standing disputes between the two nuclear-armed neighbors should be based on relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Azerbaijan’s position adds to the growing international calls for de-escalation and a peaceful approach to regional stability in South Asia.
