Islamabad(The COW News Digital)A psychologist who appeared on a recent television program hosted by Fiza Ali has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding the show, clarifying his position and intentions.
Dr. Kashif Fraz shared a video statement on his Instagram account explaining the circumstances of his appearance. According to him, he was invited to the program solely to speak about mental health issues. However, the discussion later turned into a matter of public debate, sparking criticism and online reactions.
In his statement, Dr. Fraz emphasized that he does not accept payment for appearing as a guest on talk shows. He said his primary aim is to provide awareness and professional insight on psychological matters based on his experience in the field. “My purpose is always to share knowledge and guide people from a mental health perspective,” he explained.
He also stressed the importance of thorough research before forming opinions or spreading narratives. Referring to the incident, he said he had followed the same principle and carefully reviewed the situation before responding publicly.
In the caption accompanying his video, Dr. Fraz offered a heartfelt apology to anyone who may have felt hurt by his words, tone, or behavior during the program, including during an iftar transmission segment. “If anything I said or the way I expressed myself caused distress to anyone, I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart,” he wrote. He added that his intention was never to offend or harm anyone.
The psychologist concluded his message with prayers for compassion, wisdom, and unity, urging people to approach disagreements with understanding and forgiveness.
He further noted that while he sometimes views memes made about the show in a lighthearted manner, he has never sought to boost ratings or generate controversy. “My aim is not to hurt anyone or to become part of a ratings-driven debate,” he clarified.
The controversy has sparked discussion on social media about responsible broadcasting and the role of experts in entertainment programs. Neither Fiza Ali nor the channel has issued an additional statement regarding the matter so far.
