Google has launched Google Wallet in Pakistan, offering users a secure and convenient digital payment solution. According to a report by a leading national newspaper, Google Wallet functions as a digital wallet, allowing users to store various cards and documents securely.
Visa and Mastercard holders can now add their bank cards to Google Wallet, marking a significant step towards promoting digital banking and electronic payments in the country.
Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, stated that Google Wallet will enable users to make secure and seamless payments, store boarding passes, loyalty cards, and other essential items in one place. He emphasized that the launch aligns with Google’s efforts to boost digital transactions in Pakistan, offering users faster and safer payment options.
He further noted that Pakistan’s digital payments sector is rapidly expanding, and Google Wallet provides a secure, efficient, and user-friendly solution for payments, shopping, and travel.
The app is available for download on Google Play Store, and users from Bank Alfalah, Bank of Punjab, Faysal Bank, JazzCash, HBL, Meezan Bank, and UBL can link their cards to the platform.
Google assures that user data remains protected, and even if accessed, it contains no debit or credit card details, ensuring privacy and security.
