Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, has revealed that there are reports suggesting that India may launch an attack at any location along the Line of Control (LOC). Asif added that Pakistan will deliver a strong retaliatory response if such an attack occurs.
Speaking to the media, the Defence Minister reiterated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously called for the formation of an international commission to investigate the Pulwama incident. He emphasized that the investigation would clarify whether India itself was involved or if it was a local group behind the attack. Asif further stated that the inquiry would determine the credibility of the allegations against Pakistan.
Asif called for a clear decision on whether Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was telling the truth or spreading falsehoods. He urged the international community to hold Modi accountable, accusing him of destabilizing regional peace and bringing the subcontinent to the brink of nuclear conflict for political gains.
The Defence Minister also highlighted that Modi’s government is using terrorism as a tool to incite violence in Pakistan, specifically in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Asif reminded that in 2016 and 2017, Pakistan had presented evidence to the United Nations, including videos showing Indian operatives paying people to carry out terrorist activities.
Khawaja Asif further stated that much of the terrorism currently affecting Pakistan is emanating from Afghan soil, with India allegedly backing the insurgent groups operating in regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
