Pakistan has received credible intelligence suggesting that India is preparing for potential military action within the next 24 to 36 hours, using the recent Pahalgam incident as a pretext, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, Minister Tarar warned that any such military adventurism by India would face a decisive and forceful response from Pakistan. He categorically rejected the Indian allegations as baseless and fabricated, stating that Pakistan would not tolerate India acting as “judge, jury, and executioner” in the region.
Tarar emphasized that Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism for over two decades, and condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations across the world.
Reiterating Pakistan’s call for an impartial and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident, the minister noted that India rejected this offer, revealing its true intentions of escalation rather than truth-seeking. “India’s refusal to cooperate with independent inquiry mechanisms exposes its real aim—to provoke conflict and manipulate public sentiment for political gains,” he said.
Tarar accused New Delhi of deliberately stoking tensions in the region and cautioned that such actions endanger not just regional but global peace and stability.
He further stated that Pakistan has informed the international community about the threat of imminent aggression and made it clear that India will bear full responsibility for the consequences of any military conflict.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, the Information Minister declared that the nation stands united and prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity at all costs.
The warning comes amid rising tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, following India’s accusations linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack—claims that Islamabad has strongly denied and labeled as politically motivated.
