In a major development during Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs, the Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jet has successfully destroyed India’s advanced S-400 air defense system stationed in Adampur, Punjab, according to security sources.
The S-400, one of India’s most sophisticated and expensive defense assets valued at approximately $1.5 billion, was reportedly neutralized by a precision hypersonic missile strike carried out by the JF-17 Thunder. The strike marks a significant escalation in the ongoing military confrontation between the two South Asian nuclear powers.
Sources confirmed that the attack was launched as part of a coordinated retaliatory campaign by Pakistan following recent Indian incursions. The broader operation began at dawn with Fatah-1 missile launches, targeting multiple Indian military installations, including the Udhampur and Pathankot airbases, as well as a BrahMos missile storage facility in Beas.
Military officials in Islamabad stated that the operation is a defensive measure in response to India’s aggression, emphasizing that Pakistan remains committed to defending its sovereignty and responding decisively to threats.
So far, 12 high-value Indian targets have been hit in the operation, with the scope of the response expected to expand further as strategic and tactical objectives continue to unfold.
