Former Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Kamran Akmal asked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi to resign from his post if things are “out of the latter’s control”.
Expressing his thoughts on his YouTube channel, Akmal said: “Pakistan have missed a golden chance of winning the ODI series in New Zealand after 2011.”
“You cannot befool me and those having knowledge about cricket,” he said.
Akmal said: “We don’t even know how to bowl according to the situation.”
Speaking about fast bowler Akif Javed, Akmal stated: “Despite having risen to prominence from the Pakistan domestic cricket, Akif does not know how to land his front foot, while bowling.”
He lamented the bowling performances of Mohammad Wasim Jr and Haris Rauf.
Despite criticising others, Akmal lavished his praise on Faheem Ashraf, saying, “I used to say that there is a need to play with a genuine all-rounder. Look, Faheem Ashraf has saved the team from insult. Otherwise, Pakistan would have been bundled out for 80.”
He questioned the Pakistan batters’ technique towards playing against the swing and bounce.
“None of the players were serious despite Pakistan’s shortcomings with the exception of the head coach,” he said.
Akmal said, “The players were flashing smiles when getting out,” said the former wicketkeeper.”
“Our batters get exposed to the tough conditions,” maintained Akmal.
