Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a stern warning to India, declaring that any structure built by India to block water flow will be targeted and destroyed.
Khawja Asif emphasized that violating the Indus Waters Treaty is not a minor matter and would amount to a declaration of war against Pakistan. He stated unequivocally that Pakistan will not tolerate any such move and will respond by striking the infrastructure involved.
“The violation of the Indus Waters Treaty is not easy; it will be considered an act of war against Pakistan,” Asif said. “If India constructs any such structure, Pakistan will attack and destroy it.”
He also addressed the recent incident in Pahalgam, saying India has failed to provide any evidence. Asif criticized India’s narrative, asserting that the country is now trapped by its own rhetoric.
Furthermore, Khawaja Asif commented on the international dimension of the issue, stating that the U.S. Vice President has allowed India a face-saving exit. However, he warned that if India attempts any face-saving maneuver, Pakistan will respond forcefully.
