Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar assured the nation that Lahore remains completely secure, and emphasized that Pakistan will respond to India’s provocations with strategy, not haste.
Speaking on Geo News’ program Center Stage, Minister Tarar confirmed that Indian drones, which utilized Israeli stealth technology designed to evade radar detection, were intercepted before they could reach their intended targets. “So far, we have successfully shot down 29 drones. There have been no major casualties or damage, except at one location where military equipment sustained minor losses,” he stated.
He revealed that the Indian drones were primarily aimed at Pakistan’s military installations. “These were targeted, deliberate acts, and four of our brave soldiers were wounded during the engagement,” he added.
On India’s treatment of minorities, Tarar highlighted the contrast between the two nations. “While Sikh holy sites in India face desecration, Pakistan has always respected and protected Sikh religious heritage. Even in this tense environment, we have not canceled Sikh pilgrims’ visas,” he noted.
Responding to Indian propaganda accusing Pakistan of mistreating Sikhs, Tarar firmly denied the claims, labeling them baseless and politically motivated.
He also revealed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had spoken with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, conveying Pakistan’s concerns over India’s targeting of civilian areas. “There is growing international concern about India’s reckless actions, and countries around the world are urging calm and de-escalation,” Tarar said.
Reiterating Pakistan’s right to self-defense, the Information Minister said, “India will have to face consequences. When our response comes, it will shake them — but it will come on our terms, at our chosen time and place.”
“India’s military aggression deserves only one answer — a decisive one. Their miscalculation over the Rafel jet losses has already damaged their morale,” he added.
Tarar concluded by stating, “We will not act in haste or revenge. Strategic patience is key. But let it be clear — Pakistan will respond, and that response will be unforgettable.”
