Lakki Marwat has successfully prevented any dengue cases from surfacing in the district this year, thanks to an effective control strategy implemented by the Health Department. A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Fahad Wazir was briefed on the department’s efforts, which included screening 234 suspected patients, inspecting over 84,000 houses and 94,000 outdoor sites, and conducting anti-dengue spray and larvicide activities.
The health department also launched a massive awareness campaign, distributing insecticide-treated mosquito nets in 31 rural union councils. The deputy commissioner directed officials to continue regular inspections of tyre shops and ensure the removal of stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding.
In an unrelated incident, the body of a 14-year-old boy was recovered from the Kurrum River in the Hankai Kallay area. The Rescue 1122 team retrieved the body and handed it over to the relatives after completing formalities.
