Bangladeshi cricketer Mahmudullah has officially announced his retirement from international cricket. The veteran all-rounder made the announcement on Wednesday via social media following Bangladesh’s exit from the group stage of the tournament.
In his farewell message, Mahmudullah expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, fans, and family for their unwavering support throughout his career. “I have decided to retire from international cricket,” he stated, while also extending his best wishes to Bangladesh cricket.
Having made his international debut in 2007, Mahmudullah represented Bangladesh in 50 Tests, 239 ODIs, and 141 T20Is. Over the course of his career, he amassed more than 11,000 international runs, including 9 centuries and 56 half-centuries, while also claiming 166 wickets across all formats.
