Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has returned to Pakistan after cutting short his official visit to Gulf countries in light of heightened regional tensions.
He is set to attend a high-level national security meeting today, reported The COW News on Wednesday.
Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned India’s targeting of the civilian population and expressed regret over the martyrdom of civilians in the cowardly enemy attack.
He said Pakistan’s armed forces have given a befitting reply to India’s open aggression. Mohsin Naqvi said the cowardly enemy, as always, still struck in the darkness of night.
During his tour, Naqvi held a crucial meeting in Doha with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, where both sides discussed Pakistan-Qatar relations, bilateral cooperation, and the rapidly deteriorating situation between Pakistan and India following the Pahalgam false flag operation.
Naqvi conveyed Pakistan’s firm and principled stance, stating that India’s baseless allegations and retaliatory actions posed a grave threat to regional peace.
“This offer of an impartial international investigation strengthens our principled position,” said Naqvi. “The world must know who masterminded the Pahalgam attack, who the real culprits are, and who benefitted from it.”
The interior minister also warned that India used the Pahalgam incident as a pretext to undermine the Indus Waters Treaty, which he described as “Pakistan’s lifeline.”
“We desire lasting peace in the region,” he emphasised, “but we will not remain silent in the face of aggression.”
The Qatari prime minister expressed concern over the escalating situation and stressed the need for diplomatic initiatives to reduce tensions. “We support a policy of de-escalation in the region,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman said, “and hope that diplomacy will help bring down the hostility.
