Islamabad(The COW News Digital)- Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Monday said that with the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), a new institution is being created which will be of great importance.
Speaking to a private news channel, Rana Sanaullah said that notification for the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces will not be issued in haste. He said that after the Prime Minister return, the notification would be issued at the appropriate time

He clarified further that after the Constitution comes the law, and after the law comes the rules that are framed — so all these matters will be decided with caution.
He said there is a difference between a matter being under consideration and a decision being made, and different options remain under consideration at different times. He added that the tenure of the CDF will commence on the day the notification is issued, with a term of five years.
Rana Sanaullah clarified that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif never attempted to obstruct the notification of the Chief of Defence Forces, and said that his statements are being baselessly linked to the issue.
He further stated that a PTI delegation had requested a meeting with the Speaker, in which he (Sanaullah) was also present, and they were told that the matter would be placed before the Prime Minister upon his return. However, after the delegation left, the Chief Minister KP issued a threat, due to which permission for their meeting could not be granted.
