Large-scale political events in India often attract thousands of supporters, sometimes leading to overcrowding and logistical challenges. Law enforcement agencies typically deploy additional personnel to manage traffic and maintain order during such events.

This is not the first tragic incident associated with rallies linked to Vijay’s party. In September last year, a stampede at a political event organized by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in the Karur district reportedly left 40 people dead and more than 100 injured, highlighting concerns about crowd management and public safety at mass gatherings.

Vijay, one of the most prominent figures in Tamil cinema, formally launched his political party with the aim of expanding his public role beyond the entertainment industry. His rallies have since drawn massive participation, underscoring his popularity among supporters.

Authorities have assured that a detailed inquiry will be conducted into the latest incident in Salem. Meanwhile, security measures at upcoming political events are expected to be reviewed to prevent similar tragedies.
