KARACHI ( The COW News Digital) Renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has voiced her deep concern over the deteriorating state of Karachi, highlighting the stark contrast between wealth and poverty in the country’s largest city.

In an emotional Instagram post, Mahira shared pictures from different parts of Karachi, reflecting on the city’s challenges. “Sometimes I am left speechless looking at my city,” she wrote. “My work often takes me to places I would never have gone otherwise. I saw neighborhoods and streets I had never seen before.”

The actress observed the severe hardships faced by many residents, including prolonged power outages, lack of food, and heaps of garbage left uncleared for weeks. She noted how the lives of the poor remain in constant struggle while wealthier neighborhoods enjoy relative comfort.

Despite this, Mahira highlighted the resilience and hope of Karachi’s people. “I saw children laughing and playing, mothers preparing fresh bread for their sons, and young men heading out to earn a living,” she said, praising the enduring spirit of the city.

Mahira also recalled witnessing a unique sight — a street where a mosque, a church, and a temple shared the same wall, symbolizing Karachi’s diversity and unity amid adversity. “I saw smiles on people’s faces, smiles that carried both sadness and hope,” she remarked.

Expressing her love for her hometown, Mahira wrote, “Karachi, I love you. I am sorry that we have not taken care of you the way you have taken care of us.”

Her post quickly resonated with fans and social media users, sparking conversations about Karachi’s worsening infrastructure, civic issues, and the resilience of its residents.
