Meanwhile, air quality has become a growing concern. Lahore ranked among the most polluted cities globally on Friday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 225, a level categorized as “very unhealthy” for sensitive groups . Environmental authorities have advised children, the elderly and individuals with respiratory conditions to limit prolonged outdoor exposure.
Health experts warn that poor air quality combined with rising temperatures can aggravate breathing problems and allergies. Citizens have been urged to wear masks outdoors and reduce non-essential travel, particularly during peak traffic hours.
