According to officials from Pakistan Railways, the incident involved the Pakistan Express, whose locomotive went off the tracks close to Mehrabpur. The derailment caused temporary disruption to train operations along the route.
Railway authorities said rescue teams and officials rushed to the site soon after the accident was reported. A relief train was also dispatched from Rohri to assist with recovery operations and help restore the affected rail line.

This derailment marks the second train-related incident reported within the past 24 hours in the region. Earlier, a collision occurred near Lakha Road Railway Station in Naushahro Feroze District, where the Shalimar Express reportedly collided with a freight train.
In that earlier accident, one railway employee lost his life and at least eight other individuals were injured. Rescue teams responded to the scene and shifted the injured to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Railway officials have said investigations are underway to determine the reasons behind both incidents. Authorities are also reviewing safety protocols and operational procedures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
