PAKISTAN ( THE COW NEWS DIGITAL ) Pakistan Railways has announced the operation of four special trains to facilitate passengers traveling during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays.
According to a spokesperson for Pakistan Railways, the special trains are being arranged to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic as people travel across the country to celebrate Eid with their families.
The first Eid special train will depart from Lahore for Karachi on March 16. This service aims to accommodate the large number of passengers traveling between the two major cities ahead of the festive occasion.
The second special train will leave Quetta for Rawalpindi on March 17, providing additional travel options for passengers coming from Balochistan and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, the third Eid special train will depart from Karachi to Peshawar on March 17. This route is expected to serve a large number of travelers heading toward Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the holidays.
The fourth and final special train will run from Karachi to Lahore on March 18, offering further travel convenience for people returning to Punjab or visiting relatives in the province during the Eid celebrations.
Officials said the decision to run these special trains was made to reduce travel difficulties and manage the heavy passenger load typically witnessed during major holidays. Every year, thousands of people rely on railway services to reach their hometowns before Eid.
Pakistan Railways has assured passengers that all necessary arrangements will be made to ensure smooth operations, including improved passenger facilities, security measures, and timely departures.
Authorities have also advised passengers to book their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience, as demand for travel during Eid is usually very high.
The special trains are expected to play a significant role in easing travel pressure on regular train services while helping families reunite during one of the most important religious festivals in the country.
