Islamabad(The COW News Digital)A senior Pakistani security official has stated that military operations against terrorist elements in Afghanistan will continue until the Afghan Taliban government ceases support for groups like Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. Speaking to the media about Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, the official emphasized that Pakistan’s actions target only terrorist infrastructure and facilitators responsible for attacks on civilians, mosques, and children.
He highlighted that the Taliban must decide whether they stand with Pakistan or continue sheltering and supporting terrorist networks from Afghan soil. Until credible assurances are provided, operations will remain ongoing. The official clarified that Pakistan is not acting against the Afghan population; rather, measures focus exclusively on extremist elements involved in cross-border terrorism.
Over 180 terrorist outposts have been destroyed so far, and more than 30 strategic locations previously used as launch pads have been secured. Operations are not conducted indiscriminately; only facilities aiding terrorism are targeted. The official added that Pakistan’s military engagement addresses governance gaps left unfulfilled by civilian authorities and the National Action Plan.
Regarding regional stability, the official confirmed Pakistan’s balanced approach toward Iran, noting that Pakistan’s response has been appreciated by Iran, with support from China and Russia. Pakistan opposes any false narrative suggesting it could be the next target and reaffirmed its strong foreign policy and strategic ties with Saudi Arabia.
The official also addressed nationwide protests, stressing that peaceful demonstration is a citizen’s right, but any violence or attempts to disrupt public order will be dealt with according to the law. Pakistan remains committed to defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens while continuing operations against terrorist facilitators.
