The recent events in Pahalgam have once again exposed what critics describe as India’s “terrorist face” in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, where the homes of innocent Kashmiris are being destroyed under the guise of security operations.
According to Express News, Indian forces demolished five more homes in the region using explosives. The targeted homes belonged to local civilians — Aamir Nazir Wani, Jameel Ahmed, Adnan Safi Dar, Aamir Ahmed, and Farooq Ahmed’s families. The blasts not only razed these homes but also caused significant damage to dozens of nearby houses.
Sources say that in just the past three days, a total of seven homes have been leveled, rendering multiple families homeless and sparking widespread fear and distress among the population.
Defense analysts believe these demolitions are part of a deliberate strategy to break the will of the Kashmiri people and collectively punish them for their resistance. They allege that India is employing tactics reminiscent of Israeli policy — destroying property to displace Muslim populations and seize land.
A spokesperson for the All Parties Hurriyat Conference condemned the actions, labeling them as a manifestation of the Modi government’s Hindutva-driven agenda. The Hurriyat asserted that this campaign aims to alter the Muslim-majority demographic of Kashmir by dispossessing Kashmiris of their homes and issuing domicile certificates to non-locals.
Despite the escalating oppression, the Hurriyat reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir remain steadfast in their struggle and will not surrender to Indian aggression. The spokesperson emphasized that Kashmiris are fighting for their UN-recognized right to self-determination and called on the international community to take notice of India’s human rights violations.
