Companies participating in the auction have already submitted their documents in accordance with the outsourcing regulations, which are currently being verified by the railways’ administrative team. Once the verification process is complete, an open bidding session will be held, and the company offering the highest bid will be awarded the train services.

The 11 trains set to be outsourced include Hazara Express, Millat Express, Bahawalpur Express, Fareed Express, Badr Express, Ghouri Express, Ravi Express, Thal Express, Mianwali Express, Faiz Ahmed Faiz Passenger, and Manju Dorro Passenger. These trains serve major routes and play a critical role in connecting cities and facilitating regional mobility.

Railway officials emphasized that the initiative is not only aimed at improving passenger amenities but also at upgrading station facilities, enhancing operational efficiency, and introducing modern technology in train operations. The outsourcing program is expected to attract private sector investment, bringing a new level of professionalism and competitiveness to Pakistan’s railway network.

Analysts noted that outsourcing certain train services can reduce the financial burden on the government while ensuring a better travel experience for passengers. The program also reflects Pakistan Railways’ commitment to adopting innovative strategies to meet growing demand for safe, comfortable, and timely train travel.

The upcoming auction on December 3 is expected to draw significant interest from established transport operators and private companies keen to participate in Pakistan’s evolving railway sector. Following successful bidding, operations of the outsourced trains will be handed over to the selected companies under strict regulatory oversight.

This latest initiative signals a proactive approach by Pakistan Railways to modernize its services, foster public-private collaboration, and provide passengers with a more reliable and enjoyable travel experience.
