Pakistan’s security forces have successfully foiled another infiltration attempt from Afghanistan, killing 17 more terrorists, bringing the total number of casualties to 71 over recent days.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military carried out a series of successful operations between April 25 and April 27 in North Waziristan, resulting in the death of 54 terrorists. This was followed by a targeted clearance operation conducted in the early hours of April 27-28, around Hassan Khel, North Waziristan, and areas near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. During this operation, an additional 17 terrorists were neutralized.
The ISPR confirmed that these militants were operating under the direction of foreign handlers, with the objective of destabilizing Pakistan. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also seized from the killed terrorists.
With this latest operation, the total number of terrorists eliminated during a three-day counter-terrorism operation has reached 71.
The ISPR reiterated the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to protect the nation’s borders and thwart any attempts to destabilize the country’s peace, stability, and development.
