ISTANBUL(The COW News Digital) A high-level consultative meeting on the Gaza peace plan is set to take place today in Istanbul, bringing together foreign ministers from eight Muslim countries, including Pakistan. The session aims to forge a unified strategy for the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and push for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Palestinian territories.

Pakistan will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is expected to deliver a strong call for the complete enforcement of the ceasefire and the protection of Palestinian civilians. According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andarabi, Islamabad will urge all parties to respect the truce and prioritize unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, where relief operations remain severely obstructed.

The meeting will also be attended by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Jordan, and Egypt. The nations involved have been actively engaged in recent months to coordinate diplomatic efforts toward a lasting peace in Gaza and the broader Middle East.

Discussions are expected to center on mechanisms to hold Israel accountable for violations of the ceasefire agreement and to address the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Participants will also explore ways to accelerate reconstruction efforts and deliver essential aid to displaced families.

The Pakistani delegation will reaffirm the country’s consistent stance on the Palestinian issue — advocating for a free, viable, and contiguous Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital. The Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistan remains firmly committed to upholding the rights, dignity, and justice of the Palestinian people in line with international law and United Nations resolutions.

The Istanbul meeting comes amid renewed violence in Gaza, where Israel has been accused of violating the ceasefire agreement reached last month. According to reports, at least 236 Palestinians have been killed and more than 600 injured in Israeli attacks since the truce was announced.

Observers see the Istanbul consultations as a crucial test of Muslim unity and diplomatic resolve in confronting Israel’s ongoing aggression and humanitarian violations in Gaza.
