Pakistan has decided to formally raise the issue of India’s recent aggressive actions and the deteriorating regional situation before the United Nations.
According to Express News, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has directed Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN to initiate immediate steps to convene a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Pakistan aims to brief the UNSC on the escalating tensions caused by India’s provocative actions, including cross-border aggression and inflammatory statements. The country also plans to spotlight New Delhi’s alleged violations of international agreements, specifically the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
A statement issued by the Foreign Office said that Pakistan will clearly present how India’s hostile behavior is endangering peace and security in South Asia and beyond.
This move marks a significant diplomatic step by Pakistan to bring global attention to the evolving situation and to present what it describes as the “true picture” of India’s destabilizing conduct in the region.
