Following the launch of Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs against India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened an emergency meeting of the National Command Authority (NCA) — Pakistan’s highest body responsible for decisions related to nuclear assets and strategic policy.
The urgent session, which includes top military commanders and senior political leadership, is being held to assess the current security environment and review Pakistan’s retaliatory measures against Indian aggression.
Security sources confirm that Pakistan began a full-scale response at dawn, targeting 12 high-value sites inside India. The operation, dubbed “Bunyān al-Marsūs” (The Iron Wall), reportedly involved the launch of Fatah-1 missiles, which successfully struck Udhampur and Pathankot airbases as well as a BrahMos missile storage site in Beas.
Officials indicate that these strikes have inflicted significant damage on Indian strategic infrastructure.
In light of the widening conflict, the Prime Minister’s call for the NCA meeting signals a critical moment in the standoff between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. The National Command Authority is tasked with overseeing Pakistan’s nuclear command and control structure and plays a key role in formulating strategic deterrence policies.
No official statement has been released following the meeting announcement, but insiders suggest that all military options are under evaluation, including strategic posture adjustments and contingency planning for further escalation.
