Peshawar(The COW News Digital)Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is in good health, adding that Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, is also reportedly well. His remarks came during a press interaction in Dera Ismail Khan, where he expressed growing concern over being denied access to meet the imprisoned former prime minister.

Gandapur criticized the authorities for repeatedly blocking meetings with Imran Khan, saying that this behavior has raised serious questions regarding transparency and prisoner rights. He vowed to continue raising his voice over the issue, asserting that peaceful protests would also be launched to record PTI’s dissatisfaction with the restrictions imposed on Khan’s visitors.

During the media briefing, the former chief minister reiterated his party’s demand for the swift release of Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated in connection with multiple legal cases. Gandapur warned that the PTI leadership and its supporters would not remain silent if what he described as “unjust limitations” on legal and family meetings continued.

He also addressed the broader security situation in the region, strongly condemning recent terrorist incidents. Gandapur said that terrorism—whether in the United States, Pakistan, or anywhere else in the world—deserves unequivocal denouncement. He stressed that combating terrorism effectively requires a united front and a comprehensive, collaborative strategy among national institutions and political forces.

Gandapur emphasized that Pakistan cannot afford internal divisions at a time when militants are attempting to destabilize the country. He urged all stakeholders to come together for a long-term, sustainable counterterrorism policy that strengthens national security and protects citizens.

Turning back to the political climate, the PTI leader accused the government of suppressing political dissent by isolating Imran Khan and limiting information about his condition. He maintained that the party’s founder remains resilient and continues to inspire millions of supporters across the nation.

Gandapur’s statements come amid heightened tensions between PTI and the government, with the party alleging unfair treatment, political victimization, and restricted access to its leadership. His comments have once again drawn attention to the ongoing legal and political battle surrounding Imran Khan, igniting renewed debate over justice, transparency, and political freedoms in the country.

As PTI prepares to escalate its protests, the situation continues to place pressure on authorities to ensure that legal protocols and human rights standards are upheld, especially concerning high-profile detainees.
