Peshawar Zalmi clinched a commanding six-wicket victory over Islamabad United in the 22nd match of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Islamabad United, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, posted a total of 143 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 36 runs, while Ben Dwarshuis contributed 33 runs in the middle order.
Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling attack delivered a disciplined performance, with Mohammad Ali leading the charge by taking 3 wickets. Luke Wood, Alzarri Joseph, Ahmed Daniyal, Saim Ayub, and Hussain Talat chipped in with one wicket each.
In response, Peshawar Zalmi comfortably chased down the 144-run target in the 17th over with 4 wickets in hand. Maaz Sadaqat played a crucial knock of 55 runs, while skipper Babar Azam anchored the innings with an unbeaten 53.
The highlight of the chase was a solid 102-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Babar Azam and Maaz Sadaqat, which sealed the win for Zalmi.
For Islamabad United, Kyle Mayers, Ben Dwarshuis, Naseem Shah, and Wes Agar each took one wicket, but were unable to stem the flow of runs.
