In a video message released on social media, Trump emphasized that Israel must stop its bombardment of Gaza to allow for the safe release of hostages. He warned that continued attacks risk undermining delicate negotiations already underway. “This is not just about Gaza, but about achieving the long-awaited peace across the Middle East,” Trump said.
The former president revealed that detailed discussions on the terms of the peace plan are ongoing. He thanked regional powers including Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan for their role in supporting the initiative. “This is a big day. We received tremendous help, and all parties are united for peace,” Trump said, stressing that justice must be ensured for all sides.
Hamas, in its official statement, confirmed it had accepted large parts of Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan. The group declared readiness to end the war and release all Israeli captives in exchange for a complete Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza.
Furthermore, Hamas indicated its willingness to hand over Gaza’s administration to an independent and neutral body composed of Palestinian technocrats. According to the statement, such a body would be established on the basis of national consensus and with support from Arab and Islamic countries.
Hamas also noted that Trump’s plan addressed crucial issues concerning Gaza’s future and the rights of the Palestinian people, linking them to established international laws and United Nations resolutions. The group described this as a step toward a fair and comprehensive peace that acknowledges Palestinian aspirations.
The developments mark a rare moment of optimism amid months of bloodshed in Gaza. Trump framed the current juncture as a near breakthrough: “We are very close to achieving peace in the Middle East,” he said, adding that the cooperation of all stakeholders was vital to ending decades of hostility.
