KYIV/PARIS (The COW News Digital) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a major defense agreement with France, under which Ukraine will acquire 100 Rafale fighter jets along with drones, radar systems, air defense platforms, smart-guided bombs, and other military equipment over the next decade.
The historic deal was announced during a joint press conference in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron. President Zelensky described the agreement as a “milestone” that will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s long-term security.
President Macron highlighted that the defence pact marks a new phase in strategic relations between France and Ukraine. “The agreement includes drones, interceptors, guided missiles, and advanced air defence systems,” he said, noting that the first shipments are expected within the next three years.

This deal comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, with Russia recently launching an attack on Ukraine involving 430 drones and 18 missiles, resulting in the deaths of eight people and significant destruction to buildings.
