At least 322 children have died, and 609 more have been injured in Gaza since Israel resumed its attacks on March 18, according to UNICEF.
Many of the victims were displaced, sheltering in makeshift tents or damaged homes.
Some of the children killed were receiving treatment at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, which was struck by Israeli forces on March 23, the agency reported.
“The resurgence of relentless and indiscriminate bombardments, combined with the complete block on supplies entering the Gaza Strip for more than three weeks, has put the humanitarian response under severe strain and Gaza’s civilians – especially its one million children – at grave risk,” UNICEF warned.
Since the war began 18 months ago, over 15,000 children have been killed, more than 34,000 injured, and nearly one million repeatedly displaced. The ongoing humanitarian crisis continues to worsen amid blocked aid and continued violence.
