The cancellations affected passengers nationwide, causing inconvenience for business travelers, tourists, and families planning travel for the Eid holidays.
In the Punjab region, flights from Lahore, including routes to Al Ain and Fujairah, were among the 18 flights canceled. From Karachi, nine flights bound for Doha, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai were grounded.
Lahore-based carriers canceled 25 flights to destinations including Doha, Bahrain, Najaf, Kuwait, Dubai, Fujairah, and Al Ain. Meanwhile, Islamabad saw 23 flights to Doha, Al Ain, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Kuwait unable to take off. In the northwest, Peshawar had 10 flights to Fujairah, Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi canceled, while Faisalabad saw 12 flights to Dubai, Sharjah, and Jeddah suspended.
Airlines cited rising geopolitical tensions and security concerns in the region as the primary reasons for the cancellations. Passengers were advised to check with carriers for updated schedules and potential rescheduling. Airport authorities and airlines coordinated to provide alternative arrangements and assist affected travelers, although the sudden cancellations disrupted travel plans for many.
