Dubai (The COW News Digital)Dubai Police have issued a public warning urging residents and overseas job seekers to remain vigilant against fake work visa schemes and visa-related fraud, as cases of employment scams continue to rise. Authorities say fraudsters are increasingly exploiting people searching for jobs by making false promises of employment in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Dubai Police, scammers are using a variety of methods to deceive victims, including fake job offers, counterfeit visa documents, and false claims of guaranteed employment. These fraudulent schemes often involve demanding advance payments for processing fees, visa sponsorship, or employment contracts that do not exist.
The Criminal Investigation Department’s Anti-Fraud Center said in a statement that both UAE residents and foreign nationals are being targeted through misleading visa offers circulated on social media platforms, messaging apps, and unverified recruitment websites. Police stressed that extreme caution is required when dealing with unsolicited job or visa offers.

Authorities specifically warned against individuals or groups claiming to provide “guaranteed visas” or fake sponsorship arrangements. Officials noted that many fraudsters are taking advantage of unemployed individuals by offering high-paying jobs with minimal requirements, which are often too good to be true.
Dubai Police emphasized that legitimate employment in Dubai can only be obtained through official government channels or licensed recruitment agencies approved by UAE authorities. Any job or visa offer made outside these legal frameworks should be treated as suspicious and carefully verified before sharing personal information or making payments.
The police further advised job seekers to confirm the authenticity of employers, recruitment agents, and job offers through official UAE government portals. They also urged the public to report suspected fraud cases to the relevant authorities to help prevent others from falling victim to similar scams.
Officials said visa and employment fraud not only causes financial losses but can also lead to serious legal consequences for victims who unknowingly enter the country using fake documents. As a result, Dubai Police continue to run awareness campaigns to educate the public about common scam tactics and preventive measures.
The warning comes amid increased demand for overseas employment, which fraudsters are exploiting by posing as recruiters or visa agents. Dubai Police reiterated their commitment to combating fraud and protecting the public, urging everyone to remain cautious and rely only on verified and lawful channels when seeking work opportunities in the UAE.
