India’s 256-run total now stands as the second-highest ever recorded in T20 World Cup history, behind the 260 posted by Sri Lanka national cricket team against Kenya national cricket team in 2007. It also surpasses the 254 scored earlier in the tournament by the West Indies cricket team against Zimbabwe.

Chasing a daunting target of 257, Zimbabwe managed 184 for 6 in their 20 overs. Opener Brian Bennett fought valiantly, remaining unbeaten on 97 in a spirited knock that kept his side in contention briefly. Captain Sikandar Raza added 31, but the required run rate proved too steep.

India’s bowling unit maintained pressure throughout the innings, with Arshdeep Singh leading the attack by claiming three wickets.

The emphatic win strengthens India’s position in the Super 8 stage and boosts their net run rate significantly. With momentum firmly on their side, India now look well-placed as the tournament heads toward the knockout rounds.
