World ( The cow news digital ) Iran’s military has rejected claims made by the United States regarding the movement of American naval vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, calling the statement false and misleading.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, a spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters strongly denied assertions by the U.S. Central Command, stating that the claim about American ships passing through the strategic waterway is entirely baseless.
The Iranian military spokesperson emphasized that authority over maritime movement in the Strait of Hormuz lies solely with Iran’s armed forces. He added that any such claims suggesting unimpeded or coordinated passage of foreign naval vessels are inaccurate.
The response came after the U.S. Central Command stated that American naval forces had conducted operations in the region, including a reported mine-clearing mission in the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, two guided-missile naval ships participated in operations and later carried out activities in the broader Gulf region.
The U.S. military further claimed that additional forces and underwater drone systems would be deployed in the coming days as part of efforts to ensure safe maritime navigation. It described the operation as part of maintaining “freedom of navigation” and securing global shipping lanes.
CENTCOM also indicated that the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical maritime route for international trade and that continued military presence is necessary to safeguard commercial shipping activity in the region.
However, Iranian officials dismissed these assertions, reiterating that foreign military narratives about operations in the area are not credible. They insisted that Iran maintains full oversight and control over maritime security within its territorial waters and adjacent strategic zones.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit chokepoints, and any military activity or conflicting claims in the region often lead to heightened geopolitical tensions and global market concerns.
