Iran(The COW News Digital)The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has warned that Tehran will respond decisively to any hostile action against its territory, emphasizing that defending the country is a legitimate right under international law.

Speaking to Iranian media, President Pezeshkian stated that any attack or intrusion carried out against Iran’s borders—regardless of where it originates—would receive a firm response from the country’s armed forces. He stressed that such a response would be purely defensive and should not be interpreted as hostility toward the people of the country from which the attack might originate.

“If an enemy launches an attack or violates our borders from any country, we must respond to that aggression,” Pezeshkian said. “This does not mean we want to damage relations with that country or create tensions with its people.”

The Iranian president also described regional countries as friends and brothers, urging them to strengthen cooperation in order to counter what he described as dangerous plots by United States and Israel. According to Pezeshkian, unity among neighboring states is essential to maintaining regional stability and preventing external interference.

He emphasized that disagreements among countries in the Middle East should be resolved internally through dialogue rather than allowing outside powers to exploit divisions. Pezeshkian warned that certain actors are attempting to create conflicts and push regional nations toward confrontation.

“We must work together and prevent our enemies from creating divisions among us,” he said, calling on regional governments to resist efforts aimed at destabilizing the region.

The Iranian leader further highlighted the readiness of Iran’s military forces, stating that the country’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend national sovereignty. He also praised the role of volunteer defense groups, including the Basij, which he said are present across the country and committed to protecting the nation.

According to Pezeshkian, Iran will continue to stand firmly against any aggression while simultaneously seeking constructive relations with neighboring countries. He reiterated that Iran’s defense posture is aimed at protecting national security rather than escalating tensions.

Analysts say the statement reflects growing regional tensions and Tehran’s attempt to reassure both domestic audiences and neighboring states that its military actions are strictly defensive in nature.
