The suicide blast occurred during Friday prayers at an Imambargah in the federal capital, killing more than 32 worshippers and injuring nearly 200 others, according to local media reports. The incident has triggered widespread grief and outrage, both within Pakistan and across the Muslim world.
Saudi Arabia issued a strong statement condemning the attack, describing the targeting of worshippers and innocent civilians as a clear act of terrorism. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government of Pakistan, and the Pakistani people, while also wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also denounced the suicide bombing in strong terms. In an official statement, the Iranian foreign ministry said Iran firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and violent extremism without discrimination. The statement extended condolences to the families of those killed, as well as to the people and government of Pakistan, and offered prayers for the swift recovery of the wounded.
Türkiye joined other Muslim nations in condemning the attack, with the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs calling the incident a heinous act of terrorism. The ministry reaffirmed Türkiye’s full solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time and expressed sympathy for the families of the victims. Turkish officials also conveyed their best wishes for the recovery of those injured in the blast.
Afghanistan’s Taliban-led government also issued a condemnation through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi described the attack on worshippers as deeply tragic and unacceptable. The Afghan government extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
