Pakistan Announces Squad for Bangladesh ODI Series

Islamabad(The COW News Digital)The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member national squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh. The series is scheduled to take place from March 11 to March 15 at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Leading the team will be left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who will captain the side. The squad also features six new faces, signaling Pakistan’s focus on giving opportunities to emerging talent. The newcomers include Abdul Samad, Moiz Siddiqat, Mohammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, and Shaheen Hussain. Four of these players—Abdul Samad, Moiz Siddiqat, Saad Masood, and Shaheen Hussain—recently represented Pakistan Shaheens in a series against England Lions in Abu Dhabi.

The complete 15-member squad includes: Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat, Moiz Siddiqat, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Wasim Jr., Mohammad Ghazi Ghori (wicket-keeper), Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, and Shaheen Hussain. Notably, prominent players Babar Azam, Saeem Ayub, Mohammad Nawaz, and Naseem Shah have been dropped for this series.

The team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on March 8, with a practice session planned for March 10 ahead of the opening ODI on March 11. The second match will be held on March 13, and the final fixture is set for March 15. All three matches will be played at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

The inclusion of new players highlights Pakistan’s strategy of blending experienced performers with emerging talent to strengthen the squad for future challenges.
