Palestine(The COW News Digital)Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reaffirmed his commitment to establishing an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, emphasizing that such a state is both necessary and unavoidable. Speaking from Ramallah, Abbas stressed that the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes will be ensured in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. He described the ongoing struggle in Gaza and the West Bank as a defense against some of the worst acts of ethnic cleansing and mass violence in recent Palestinian history.
