Trump did not provide further details or evidence regarding the claim of eight aircraft being shot down, a statement he has repeated on several occasions in the past. His remarks have previously sparked debate, as official accounts from the countries involved have differed on the scale and outcome of the military engagement.

During the same interaction, the US president spoke about Venezuela’s vast oil reserves, arguing that American involvement was necessary to prevent rival powers from expanding their influence. Trump said that Venezuela and the United States together hold around 55 percent of the world’s oil reserves and claimed that without US pressure, Russia and China would have moved in to secure control over Venezuela’s energy sector.

He added that Russia and China are free to purchase oil from either the United States or Venezuela, emphasizing Washington’s dominant position in the global energy market. Trump also remarked that Russian President Vladimir Putin fears the United States more than Europe, while expressing mixed views about Moscow and Beijing. “I love the people of China and Russia,” he said, describing Putin as a “good person” but adding that he had been disappointed by his actions.

President Trump also returned to the issue of Greenland, repeating his stance that the United States cannot allow Russia or China to gain a strategic foothold there. He said that if Washington does not secure Greenland, “your next neighbor will be Russia or China,” which he described as unacceptable from a national security perspective.

According to Trump, discussions are ongoing regarding various aspects of Greenland, though no talks have yet taken place about financial arrangements. He said a decision on the territory’s economic matters would be made later and expressed hope for reaching a deal with Denmark, which currently governs Greenland.

Trump’s remarks reflect his broader foreign policy narrative centered on strong leadership, deterrence, and preventing rival powers from expanding their global influence. His repeated claims continue to draw international attention and debate as global tensions remain high.
