UAE Denies Iran’s Claim on Kharg Island Attack

UAE ( THE COW NEWS DIGITAL ) United Arab Emirates has rejected Iran’s allegation that American forces used Emirati territory to launch an attack on Kharg Island, a major oil export hub in the Persian Gulf.

The claim, made by Iran, suggested that the United States conducted operations from UAE soil during recent military strikes targeting key installations on Kharg Island. Iran emphasized that the island is strategically critical for the country’s oil exports, making any attack on it highly significant for the region’s energy supply.

Responding to the accusations, the UAE dismissed the claims as unfounded and indicative of Tehran’s “policy confusion.” Emirati officials highlighted that the allegations lack any credible evidence and do not reflect rational reasoning.

Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, stated that while the country reserves the right to defend itself, all actions are guided by logic, reason, and adherence to international norms. He emphasized that the UAE’s foreign and security policies prioritize stability in the region and do not involve providing territory for unilateral military operations.

Analysts note that the UAE has historically maintained a neutral stance in regional conflicts, aiming to avoid direct involvement while protecting its sovereignty and strategic interests. The nation has often acted as a mediator in Gulf disputes and emphasizes diplomacy over military engagement.

Iran’s accusations have raised tensions between Tehran and Abu Dhabi, especially given the strategic importance of the Persian Gulf and its shipping lanes. The UAE’s response reflects its intent to clearly distance itself from the conflict and maintain its position as a neutral party.

International observers believe that the ongoing disputes over Kharg Island and regional military operations underscore the fragile security environment in the Middle East. The situation continues to attract global attention due to the island’s role in oil exports and the broader geopolitical implications for energy markets.

The UAE’s firm rejection of Iran’s claims signals that it will not tolerate allegations that could compromise its diplomatic standing or involve it in conflicts where it has no operational role.
