The 22-year-old played an extraordinary unbeaten knock of 125 runs off just 56 balls, powering his team to a commanding 53-run victory in the second T20I of the series.
Batting first after being invited by the hosts, South Africa posted a formidable total of 218 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Brevis, nicknamed “Baby AB” for his batting style reminiscent of AB de Villiers, brought up his century in just 41 balls — the fastest ever by a South African in T20 Internationals. With this knock, Brevis surpassed Faf du Plessis’ long-standing record of 119 runs, set in 2015 against the West Indies, to become South Africa’s highest individual scorer in T20Is.
