Mumbai( The COW News Digital) Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is once again at the center of controversy after fans accused him and the Bigg Boss 19 organizers of favoritism and unfair treatment during the latest weekend episode of the show. The backlash erupted following a heated altercation between popular singer Amaal Mallik and Kashmiri actress Farhana Bhatt, which many viewers believe was handled with “leniency and bias” by the host.
According to Indian outlet Mint, social media users expressed outrage over Salman Khan’s decision to issue only a “final warning” to Amaal Mallik despite his aggressive behavior toward fellow contestant Farhana Bhatt. Viewers argued that the show’s producers and Salman Khan appeared to be “protecting Amaal’s image” rather than ensuring fairness.
The incident reportedly occurred during a captaincy task when Farhana Bhatt tore contestant Neelam Geary’s letter, prompting an angry reaction from Amaal Mallik. The singer allegedly snatched food from Farhana’s hand and broke a plate, leading to widespread criticism from fans who labeled his actions “disrespectful and violent.”
During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan invited Amaal’s father, veteran music composer Daboo Malik, to the stage. Daboo requested his son to control his language and behavior, while Amaal appeared emotional and broke down in tears. However, this moment only intensified the backlash online, with users claiming the show had turned into an “Amaal Mallik sympathy campaign.”
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), hashtags such as #BoycottAmaalMallik and #ShameOnSalmanKhan began trending, with users accusing the host of double standards. Many reminded the show’s management of past instances where contestants were immediately expelled for using abusive language, while Amaal was merely warned.
One user wrote, “Salman Khan, we’ve seen contestants thrown out for less. Why is Amaal being treated differently? This is open bias.” Another comment read, “Nepotism at its peak. Amaal Mallik gets a clean chit because of his industry background.”
Critics also questioned the integrity of Bigg Boss, suggesting that the producers’ actions undermined the show’s credibility. Several viewers called for strict action against both Amaal and the show’s management, emphasizing that such behavior “should not be normalized under any circumstances.”
As of now, neither Salman Khan nor the Bigg Boss 19 producers have issued an official statement in response to the mounting criticism.
