Karachi(The COW News Digital) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the valuation of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise teams and related assets, paving the way for renewed franchise agreements and the potential addition of new teams.

According to PCB officials, all existing PSL franchises have been offered contract renewals for the next ten years with updated fees. Teams are required to submit their decisions to the PSL management by a specified deadline to ensure a smooth renewal process.

To maintain transparency in the ten-year franchise agreements, the PCB has arranged both joint and individual meetings between franchise representatives and the chartered firm EY Mina. These meetings provide an opportunity for team owners to review the valuation methodology and ask any questions regarding the process.

In addition, EY Mina has submitted reports regarding the estimated price for two potential new PSL franchises. The PCB plans to initiate the tender process for the sale of these teams shortly, allowing interested investors to acquire new franchises under the league’s updated structure.

Prospective owners will also be given the option to select cities for their new franchises. The suggested locations include Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi. These cities were selected to broaden PSL’s reach and engage cricket fans across different regions of Pakistan.

The PCB emphasized that the inclusion of new teams and transparent valuation of assets is part of its broader strategy to strengthen the league, attract investment, and ensure sustainable growth over the next decade. Officials said that the valuation and tender process have been designed to provide clarity and confidence to both existing and potential franchise owners.

With PSL continuing to expand in popularity both domestically and internationally, the addition of new franchises and participation from untapped cities could enhance competitive balance and fan engagement. Industry analysts believe that these developments will further solidify the PSL’s position as one of the premier T20 cricket leagues in the world.

As the tender process opens in the coming weeks, cricket enthusiasts and investors alike will closely watch the outcome, which could shape the next phase of the PSL and redefine the league’s geographical and commercial footprint.
