Georgeta Gigenen, Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan at the United Nations, criticized the Taliban for excluding women and girls from all aspects of public life. Tom Fletcher, Assistant Secretary-General of the UN, highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis, reporting that 17.4 million Afghans are currently affected by hunger. International representatives stressed that the Taliban administration has shown no serious effort to address these challenges or engage with global humanitarian initiatives.

China’s permanent envoy, Fu Kang, cited the escalating humanitarian crisis and terrorism risks, while South Korea’s representative pointed out that restrictive Taliban measures prevent women from working in the UN and other aid organizations.
