According to international media reports, officials from both countries will meet to discuss key obstacles hindering a negotiated settlement to the nearly three-year-long conflict.
The discussions are expected to focus on ceasefire mechanisms, territorial disputes, and long-term security guarantees, which remain the most contentious issues between the warring sides and their international backers. Sources indicate that the US delegation may include special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Dickson, while Russia is likely to be represented by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, along with senior policy advisers.

Putin also claimed that Western strategies aimed at weakening or fragmenting Russia had failed, stating that contrary to expectations, the country had remained intact and resilient.
In his remarks, Putin accused European powers of seeking revenge for past grievances and pursuing Russia’s destruction under the guise of supporting Ukraine. Such rhetoric has further complicated diplomatic efforts, raising concerns among European leaders about Moscow’s true commitment to peace talks.
European officials, however, have reaffirmed their support for Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia should not gain any political or territorial advantage as a result of the war.
