Til Aviv(The COW News Digital)Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying Israel is closely monitoring Iranian military activities and will respond forcefully to any hostile action. His remarks come amid rising regional tensions and reports of ongoing military exercises conducted by Iran.
Speaking in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said Iran is carrying out war drills and that Israeli intelligence agencies are keeping a close watch on Tehran’s moves. He stressed that Israel would not hesitate to take decisive action if Iran threatens Israeli security. “Any action taken by Iran will be met with a strong and appropriate response,” the Israeli prime minister warned.

Netanyahu also revealed that Iran’s nuclear activities would be a key topic in his discussions with former US President Donald Trump. He reiterated Israel’s long-standing position that Iran’s nuclear ambitions pose a serious threat to regional and global security. According to Netanyahu, coordination with the United States remains critical in addressing what Israel views as Iran’s destabilizing role in the Middle East.
The Israeli leader’s statement follows heightened diplomatic and military rhetoric between the two longtime rivals. Israel has repeatedly accused Iran of expanding its military capabilities and supporting armed groups across the region, claims that Tehran has consistently denied.
In response to Netanyahu’s remarks, Iran’s Foreign Ministry defended the country’s missile and defense programs. A spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Iran’s missile program is purely defensive in nature and is not subject to negotiation. The spokesperson emphasized that Iran would not compromise on its missile capabilities under any circumstances.
Iranian officials also stated that the country’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend national sovereignty. “Our military readiness is solely for the defense of the nation,” the spokesperson said, adding that Iran does not seek conflict but will respond firmly to any aggression.
Tehran has long argued that its military exercises and missile development are necessary for self-defense, particularly given the security challenges in the region. Iranian leaders maintain that their actions comply with international law and are aimed at deterring external threats.
Analysts say the exchange of statements reflects deepening mistrust between Israel and Iran, with both sides maintaining hardline positions. Regional observers warn that escalating rhetoric could further increase instability in an already volatile Middle East.
Despite the tensions, diplomatic channels remain active, particularly through international partners seeking to prevent direct confrontation. However, experts caution that without meaningful dialogue and confidence-building measures, the risk of escalation cannot be ruled out.
