Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning to citizens, urging them to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions against potential landslides in vulnerable areas. The advisory comes amid recent heavy rainfall and unstable weather conditions in several regions of the country.
The NDMA highlighted that hilly and mountainous districts are at higher risk, advising residents to avoid construction on slopes, stay away from loose soil areas, and follow official evacuation instructions if needed. Authorities also recommended keeping emergency supplies ready, including food, water, and first aid kits, to ensure safety in case of sudden incidents.
Local administrations have been directed to monitor high-risk zones closely and provide timely updates to communities. Disaster management experts stressed the importance of public awareness and preparedness to minimize loss of life and property.
The NDMA’s advisory reflects the growing need for proactive measures as seasonal rains continue, emphasizing safety as a shared responsibility between authorities and citizens.
